Mobvoi launches Ticwatch Pro S

Mobvoi launched a new smartwatch today but comes with the Snapdragon Wear 2100, a processor from 2016. Really strange decision. Lots of reviews out on it:

Really is a step backwards to use such an old processor. Not sure what they are thinking.

Do you think with the current world chip shortage, smartwear manufacturers are looking for a source of sufficient processors to keep production going even if the shortages get worse?

The chip shortage seems to be hitting many industries so it is not surprising if smartwear manufacturers are impacted as well. After the Ticwatch Pro 3 came out last September with the Snapdragon 4100 processor, the expectation that many more Wear OS watches would be coming out with this processor. Half a year later, not even 1 other watch is using it and now we see this watch with an aging 2100 processor. Chip shortages are likely a factor.
