Recently read this report on the growth in Smartwatches. While Apple leads the "wearables" market due to their Airpods.


Xiaomi leads for smartwatches.


That being said, Apple's marketshare is growing quite a bit.

If Samsung made some cheaper offerings like the Chinese manufacturers, I think they would rate higher.

I suspect Samsung is only focused on the premium market, much like Apple. They prefer higher margins than higher volumes while the Chinese manufacturers often focus on volumes.

I think they are very big in running and cycling. With their higher price, not as popular outside those areas. I expect they would still be in the top 10.

Huawei sold to Honor business assets to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co on Nov 11, 2020. Seems to be a group of 30 companies.

Now that Google has purchased Fitbit, I expect them to move up the list. Perhaps #2 after Apple!

As long as it doesn't go the way of Motorola, Boston Dynamics, etc. Can't help thinking that Google could have put a lot more into WearOS without having to buy Fitbit. Time will tell.

That 1.5% growth in shipments seems awfully low when compared to other studies.
